Upgrade to kde 4.8.4 failed due two conflicting files.
« on: June 08, 2012, 05:11:07 AM »
I downloaded without any problem, but when the system tries to apply the changes gives back this error message:

Total size of the packages to install: 517.75 MiB
Net size of the update: 4.56 MiB

Do you want to proceed with the installation? [Y / n] s

file: / var / run is already in the filesystem
There were errors, no package has been updated.

Maybe have I to erase the two files? I do not know...  :-\

I read the post that you have linked, but how can i know if I have to perform the first command or the second (i do not know if I use systemd)? My var/lock is empty but var/run is not empty...

EDIT: i performed the second command, rebooted and then deleted the var/lock and var/lock; and it seems there are not problem...

Like usually, thanks for your attention. ;D
